Figueira da Foz, september, 2000. I was surfing in a WCT event as a Wildcard. After my Round 3 defeat to C.j. Hobgood I was approached by a shy, smiley, 6 year old kid and his dad for a photo and autograph. I thought to myself. "Wow, surfing is really growing"! I wasn't used to see such young surfer kids with their parents on the beach. Yesterday, this same young men did history for our country and most important for himself as he saw all his work and dedication paid off. Proud of you my little brother
